The Good and Bad of Free Web Hosting Plans

November 30th, 2009

What is the difference between shared (paid) web hosting and free web hosting? This is an important question for those who are interested in setting up web sites. Whether just for blogging or promoting a cause, or trying to make money with a business, the type of hosting you choose can make a big difference in your site and the reaction of your visitors. Just setting up shop on a free social site like Facebook isn’t always a great idea.

On the social sites, whatever content you submit is theirs. If the site decides some day to change the rules, or go offline altogether, all of your effort can be wasted. It is so much better when you own your own domain and have your own hosting. If you own your site, your content is yours and you own it (except for copyrighted material, of course).

With the price of paid hosting down to reasonable levels, it makes sense now to consider it. You can register a domain for under $10 a year, and set up paid hosting for about the same amount per month. These paid packages have plenty of disk space and bandwidth allowance for most average webmasters, usually with room for multiple sites if you’re inclined to create them.

Even with pay by the month hosting being so cheap, some folks still like the idea of free web hosting. If your site is small, strictly for fun, and you wouldn’t mind if it went away suddenly then free hosting might be okay for you. If your intention is to promote any business or sell anything, free hosting isn’t a good idea.

On the up side, free web hosting is indeed free. No strings attached, usually. Nonetheless, there are drawbacks and reasons that the hosting is free.

Free hosts typically run advertisements on your site, and you have no control over this. While your page will still be there, the advertising all around can make it look bad. It just isn’t attractive.

It isn’t unusual for pop ups to be a problem on free sites. Pop up blockers don’t get them all, and they can be a nuisance to your site visitors.

Free hosting is for small sites that don’t get a lot of traffic, and don’t use a lot of video or file transfers. Don’t plan on having more than a small, simple site with these hosts.

A website hosted with a free provider will not be your own domain name. You will pick a name, which will be attached to the host’s name, for example: yoursitename.freehost.com or something similar. You won’t be able have your own unique domain.

Remember that free hosts are counting on making money from the ads on your site. They hope you’ll bring in traffic that will click the ads and buy something. They then make money from the click, or from the sale. It’s a great deal. Problem is, if it doesn’t go well, the host can shut down at anytime and all your work and effort is gone forever.

My advice is to avoid all free web hosting services, unless you simply don’t have the money or don’t want to commit to a few dollars a month for a regular host. The bottom line is, never put anything up on a free host that you really don’t want to lose. It is definitely a risk.

Article writing is necessary to good SEO service using 250- 500 word length articles for attracting intented traffic. These articles can be created with keywords and issues that will attract a flow of visitors from search engines. Also good seo articles can be utilized as content for unique, fresh, and up-to-date info for your website, blog, or e-newsletter.

While it seems like commonsense to research if their personal website ranks high it is in fact rather the opposite a lot of the trained SEO writers work under a mentor and would not own the time to improve their own site if they are totally doing work.

The main reason my sites rank high in this case is because as a highly skilled SEO writer I train others and they in return help improve my web sites following my systems throughput the training period, if a trainee or virtual worker can’t do well using my sites they never perform work for any client except if it is minor support details.

So in looking for a writer ignore their websites and ask for data on a customer’s site that ranks bear in mind due to confidentiality in a lot of the cases the number of customers who give permission to reveal even the fact that a writer has performed work for them is usual smaller than the actual amount of customers that writer has worked with.

If all types of investigation fails writers even with smart customers who never wish anybody viewing their niche and therefore bringing in more competition will still give testimonials. Find writers with an increasing database of testimonials for good work done by past clients.

Twitter – How To Effectively Use it For Networking

November 29th, 2009

You have no doubt already heard of the social networking site Twitter, which, despite only having being around a relatively short period of time, is now one of the most popular sites on the whole of the Internet. Some people are still not convinced of its value as a genuine marketing tool, but serious marketers have not only realized that, but are already using it to drive traffic to their web properties and, ultimately, to make money.

When you’re just getting started on Twitter, things can seem hectic or confusing. To get yourself hooked up with some followers who have similar interests as you, think of a popular online community that you frequent and start following people you know there. If you are active in this online community, then people will start to notice you and follow you as well.

Once you have a decent number of followers, it’s time to start tweeting. Bear in mind that when you tweet, self promotion isn’t the aim – always think about what your can genuinely offer others. There have been many spoofs of Twitter in the form of comics and videos which comment on how some people like to tweet about their everyday lives. If you want to brand yourself as someone knowledgeable and whom it would be desirable to follow, then you’ll need to be able to provide value to your followers as well as potential followers.

There are also a plethora of tools on the Internet that integrate with Twitter to provide greater functionality and options. Some of these tools provide options to automate some of your Twitter activities, such as automatically following those who follow you, or automatically sending welcome messages to those who follow you. Be wary of automating too much though as the whole point of Twitter is that it is a ’social’ site, and the parts of it you automate the less interaction you have with other Twitter users. Still, there are some great tools out there, the best of which you can find by simply searching for ‘twitter tools’ on a search engine.

Twitter is a great networking tool because it allows you to get in touch with people who you wouldn’t otherwise have a chance to meet. A great way to start a conversation with someone on Twitter is to either ask them a question, or answer one of their questions. Comments may be ignored, but if you help them or ask them for help, you are more likely to elicit a response from them. This is especially useful for networking with experts in your field.

Basically, the more times you tweet and interact, the more trust and respect will be built. Then, once others see that you are an active and valuable Twitter user, they will start interacting with you too, and a viral networking effect results. As soon as you start building your network on Twitter, you’ll find that your follower base will start to grow on its own without any additional effort on your part.

Creative people see opportunities in all sorts of things and this includes money making opportunities. The economy is such that people are getting laid off and home values have gone way down which has put many of us in a tough financial position. Using An Article To Bring In Business

November 24th, 2009

Yes you read the title right, have an article written for you. Some of you are sitting there right now wondering why in the world would you have this done. First off some people may feel they will be able to advertise just fine without an article about their business. Secondly, many others will feel they can write up an article just as easy as another person.

But it’s not that easy to come up with an article that will attract people and want them to buy from you or use your business idea. Perhaps you have the next great way to earn money online, but you need people to know about it first.

Posting on blogs will bring people, but why not have a full article written about this business chance of yours. Going into just enough detail to have someone wondering about it. That will pull someone to your site quickly. More so than that little short blog post will.

Not saying that there are not some great writers out there who haven’t joined a writing service. But you will need to ask for a sample of a single writers work. Trust them when they say they’ve never missed a deadline, and they have never copied anything. Or you can go to the writing service, knowing the work will be completed.

It’s not as plain cut as it may sound though. In order to find the right person who will provide you with a high quality well written article is a start. If you want you can post an ad on one of the many sites out there where a freelancer would visit. But if you’re looking to save a lot of hassle and some time, look into a writing service instead.

Of course you need to make sure that you hire a person who is reputable and will not copy from others on the internet. That’s why at times your best option would be to check out writing services online. These places have weeded out the writers who are not honest, don’t write original, and continually miss those deadlines.

Again in order to get your name known you want to post things in as many places as you can. At times this will mean you will need to get several different articles written up. A single writer again will be able to do this for you, but the speed in which they get it done will vary. However, with a writing service they can split up those articles among several writers, making the time you need to wait be a very short one.

While many people take advantage of having articles written about their business, other’s still don’t. A great way to get the name of your company out there is by having these articles written and posting them at different sites. As people see your name more and more they become interested in what you sell or have to offer. Or if your article holds the interest of that reader they may well head immediately to your web site and check it out. That’s why you need to make sure that your article writer is top of the line and will provide a great article. At times it’s hit or miss if you look for an individual, so checking out a writing service can help that.

Captivating the Power of Positive Thinking

November 23rd, 2009

The principles of winning in the business world are the same as winning on the athletic field. We all have heard this before. No one person ever described winning and what it takes better than Vince Lombardi, the beloved Hall of Fame football coach of the’50’s and 60’s Green Bay Packers.

Vince’s absent has been forty years but his attitude and viewpoints are relevant in today’s society and business practices. He was also famous for many coined quotes of his era, and these phrases are pertinent in business, politics and sports today.

LOMBARDI TIME – 10-15 minutes early or you are late. Never being late for a meeting or appointment signifies respect for who you are working for or with. If punctuality is reciprocated, you are well on your way to being a winner.

CONFIDENCE IS CONTAGIOUS – SO IS LACK OF CONFIDENCE – A business manager or team leader who demonstrates confidence will breed that same confidence in the work force, if there is consistency of purpose. If you live and believe in what you say, those around you will eventually do the same.

Another coined phrase was “Perfection is not realistic, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence”. If we set goals that are easily reachable, then we can only expect mediocrity. It doesn’t matter if we are an employee with a company or a CEO of a large Corporation or an athlete we can at most be guaranteed “average” results. Establishing higher goals and ambitions, might not guarantee us that we will be the best, but it will assure us to be one of the best.

THE ONLY PLACE SUCCESS COMES BEFORE WORK IS IN THE DICTIONARY – Practice and hard work will reap success. Think of the Lombardi Sweep. The defense knew it was coming, but they still couldn’t stop it. Hard work and “perfect practice” will always win out.

IF WINNING ISN’T EVERYTHING, WHY DO WE KEEP SCORE? – Whether you are in a foot race, football game, or climbing the business ladder, if you don’t want to be the best, you will be satisfied with second place. It will become a habit.

Believe in yourself and believe in your peers or authorities. Be positive in life and live these ideologies and you will be part of the winning team.

What Is Information Marketing.

November 22nd, 2009

As I mentioned in my previous post Information is a multi-BILLION dollar industry and an incredible opportunity for you to make an additional income in or to even make this your profession. It is one of the easiest industries to “break into” AND it is based upon taking your knowledge and leveraging it. Let me explain: Information Marketing is the publishing, marketing and selling of information products. both off-line (i.e. book stores) and on-line (i.e. websites).

You know Information Marketing best from books that you see at book stores or perhaps the exercise systems you can purchase from the TV Infomercials. Have you ever wanted to write your own book, share your knowledge, your system, your shortcuts? You may not have thought about the marketing and selling aspect of that but tha

How do we know? For the mere fact that I previously declared in my anteceding post… “last year three hundred and fifty two million individuals spent over $564 BILLION on information products. So… Do not you think there is an given chance there for you? Do not you think out of three hundred and fifty two million individuals worldwide (and with the growth of the Internet this number is sure to have already tripled) that there is a niche market out there for you? Sure there is! Go look on the Internet and see if you can find something similar. Someone is writing and putting information out there right now in your niche… why shouldn’t it be YOU?

I posses how what you are thinking… there is already too much Info out there, or someone has already written a book on my topic… or Or OR. No excuses. Here’s the deal. There is nobody else out there like YOU with your knowledge, your experience, expertise, spin, etc. AND more importantly there are people out there that will resonate with you and your message or Info but you have to give them the chance.

Let me take this a step further… Have you seen a book on imposed dieting? More than one book? Oh really? In fact let’s just narrow our search to Amazong for imposed dieting books and not even open this up to Google for worldwide returns…. On Amazon alone twhen you search imposed dieting books you get a whopping 33,758 returns on imposed dieting! Yikes!

Hmmmm…. Well now isn’t that interesting? There are a ton of books on imposed dieting and new ones coming out what seems like every day! Yet they are all different, they all have their own spin and take on “Their System” I’ll talk more about this in my next post. Even with imposed dieting a subject that would seem to be saturated by now and isn’t is an given chance in Information marketing/selling.

You see there is never enough information and people need to know what you know. The only difference between the “experts” and you is that 1) they call themselves and expert and 2) they have taken action to publish and market their information in some format.

So back to our topic here on Information marketing/selling… I like to produce this simple when it comes to explaining what type of information products there and there is a lot… I call them clicks and bricks. Now you know what Information marketing/selling is all about and it is HUGE! I’m looking forward to training you in this Industry and to helping you get started. I know you will produce a positive difference in the lives of others when you share your information… your SYSTEM. Stay tuned for my next post on more about your System.

Goal Setting is Essential for Small and Large Businesses Alike

November 21st, 2009

Goal setting and planning are not just for the independent contractor but for small and large business entities as well. Companies should have a solid Mission Statement along with written goals and objectives. These of course are instrumental in the success of any business. This is not only beneficial to the Company but employees as well to maintain a balance.

Established companies are not immune or insulated from changes in the economy. If they are not ahead of the curve and don’t adapt with their competition, growth will be impossible. Ability to plan and set goals for success will keep them viable.

The old adage ‘to fail to plan is to plan to fail” rings true. There are many myths in life as well as business that some use today to avoid setting goals and plan. The following are several that more than likely we all have used or at least thought of.

IT’S NOT REALLY THAT IMPORTANT! Just thinking you know what needs to be done isn’t enough. What worked last year isn’t a given this year. If you and your team are not working on next year’s plan today, it may be too late for next year. Working towards next year’s goals should always begin today.

There are written goals and there are written goals. In other words, goals do not exist in thoughts only. They must be in writing. Talking to your employees about the plan for the company’s success will have no value to the employee. Providing your employees with visual goals will spark their interest even more for their future and the company’s.

GOALS ARE ALL YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL! If this were true, we never would have heard of Bill gates or Warren Buffet. Success in any business or profession is dependent on the implementation, supervision, and coordination of the written goals.

Once I write down my goals I only review them once a year. This is definitely another myth or misconception. With the constant changing of today’s economy, goal planning must be reviewed quarterly, if not monthly. This will keep you from swerving off course and adapt your road to success. Evaluating your goals frequently must now become a common practice.

We must constantly adjust our goals to determine if increased production is approached in a timely manner or if a reduction in sales or staff is more realistic. If we don’t take these approaches cautiously, we could be in a financial crisis along with the economy or even in a strong economy. We will always be in a better position knowing the “storm” is coming rather than waiting until after it arrives.

Go With These Blogging Platforms

November 14th, 2009

I’ve been a blogger for several years now, and I’m always open to the idea of trying out new blogging platforms. I’ve blogged about a wide range of topics, and my friends often laugh at me about this. From the tongue scraper to wine goblets, I’ve blogged about just about everything.

As far as using a platform goes, I’ve always had different opinions about this, as I’ve never known which way to go with things. I’ve tried so many different options, and at the end of the day I want something easy to use that looks great.

While many were great, there are some that I’ve liked more than others. Generally, I stick to three now and what I go with really depends on the needs of the blog. Here are my top three, as I’m sure that one of these will be a great fit for you.

First of all, I’d definitely recommend taking a look at Blogger, which is offered free of charge by Google. It’s very easy to set up a blog this way, and you get the benefits of having your content indexed shortly after it’s published.

Secondly, I would definitely look into Wordpress if you want to be a bit more adventurous. The many widgets and plugins offered through Wordpress are phenomenal.

There are so many different ways to take advantage of Wordpress plugins, and I’d definitely suggest playing around with it if you have a decent knowledge of the Internet.

The last one I’ll mention is a more recent addition to the blogosphere, and it’s called Posterous. This is a great service that allows you to post to your own blog without ever having to set it up. As long as you email them your post, they’ll have it up automatically for you in less than a minute.

The same can be done for pictures and videos too, making it very, very convenient.
