Heard Of The Blog? What Is Blogging?

February 23rd, 2010

If you are wondering what is blogging and why you should setup a blog – Here’s the answer. This is a great way to make money on the internet. It started off as an easy way people could let others read about them. People sometimes send out a newsletter to friends and family to let them know what is going on with them and their family. Now people write in online and let people know they can go to their blog and read about them.

But then they found out that they could promote products in their writing. And they started using them to promote their websites. So at first people used them for personal and social reasons but then they started using them for their online business.

This is a great way to promote your own products or affiliate products. You also do not have to pay for web hosting. When you have a website you have to pay for server space. But building a posting a blog is free. Affiliate products you may or may not know are products created by someone else, they are not your products. But you can earn a commission when you help sell the product. When you lead someone to the affiliate product website where they can read more about the product and they buy the product you earn money.

You create one and then talk about the affiliate product on your blog. You can even do a product review of the affiliate product. You then add a link so people reading about it can go to the affiliate product sales page, created by the product owner. When they buy you get a commission. Of course if you do have your own product this is also a great way to promote it.

This is a good alternative to building a website especially if you are new to this type of marketing on the internet. Building a website might be new to you and you want to focus on marketing not the technical part of building a website. And there are a lot of blog hosting companies you can sign up for free with and start building one right away.

They provide the template and also the different backgrounds and styles to choose from. Before you know it you will have a great looking professional appearing internet presence. You will not have the cost of a website or have to go through the trouble of building one.

Search engines love blogs because they have new content all the time. You will get high ranking because the search engines will see your latest postings on a regular basis.

If you have a business already on the internet you can still use a blog. If you have a website you can promote your website on your blog. Since you will getting a lot of traffic to your blog you can send that traffic to your website by adding a link to your website. You will increase traffic to your website. And more traffic means more money in your pocket.

Freelance Virtual Assistants: Will It Save You Money?

February 21st, 2010

Freelance Virtual assistants offer various advantages compared to temporary or part-time workers. Beyond the obvious–no payroll taxes, no workers’ comp, no temp-agency commission–web assistants tend to remain more cost-efficient, charging on hourly basis. They use telephones and voice-recognition technology to make ease of the everyday routines of obtaining messages, returning telephone calls and managing appointments. Choosing among the leading virtual assistants is determined on simply how much you are willing to pay and which services you’d want . Virtual assistants, just like bricks-and-mortar assistants, are definitely not immune. I’m certainly not talking about being a VA in general – though that happens too – where a virtual assistant determines she just can’t handle the isolation and hangs up her pc.

Virtual assistants do certainly not demand to meet their clients directly to converse or to exchange data. All these are executed through the internet.Web Assistants can handle anything from daily correspondence and e-mails, to establishing a Advertising Campaign for customers, taking on their article submissions and website article submissions, to working with a client’s web site or blog. Virtual Assistants simply could be well advised to embrace a business partner or use a team of trusted colleagues to entrust overflow to. The specifications of a beneficial Virtual Assistant aren’t easily met and setting up a virtual network of quality workers isn’t very easy to do at all.

Virtual assistant is definitely the broader term. By description, all virtual content writers are also virtual assistants; then again not all virtual assistants are content writers (although some are).

Virtual Assistants are known to be business owners too. They pick who they’ll and would not work with. Because of this, companies really do take them seriously. Particular suggestions and techniques are found in a number of VA blogs where it is full of the ins and outs of working along with a virtual assistant which includes what you must look for, what isn’t that crucial and even how VAs function and what dissimilar tasks are easiest to delegate. VA’s bring with them a variety of administrative expertise that cover anything from word processing and internet research, to making and keeping famous blog sites and article automations .

Virtual Assistants are appointed on an hourly or a monthly retainer basis. Virtual assistants began as home dependent assistants within the business industry however the industry has advanced substantially over the past 10-12 years or even more. Today, together with word-processing, they’re able to produce complex docs and set up macros, create and manage Power Point presentations , create and manage databases, data entry into databases or spreadsheets, generate and maintain website pages, appear just after your social media needs such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Business is often a very broad discipline that involves supervision, corporate strategy, international operations, leadership and customer relations. As establishments constantly grow , they face new difficulties. Supervisors and executives of businesses can utilize VAs to take care of tasks such as, web development, web edits, blog installations, posting, and maintenance, accounting and bookkeeping, telecommerce and setting appointments.

I would have to say that one should definitely offer to save the client money. Every person -doesn’t make a difference, how wealthy or inadequate they are – all of them would to be able to save enough money.Offer a price cut or a few other small token if required. Always remember to thank your clients for being understanding and keep in mind when they have issues crop up, that they’re just like everyone else that don’t take criticisms personally.

What Are Benefits Of Blogging For Small Business

February 11th, 2010

There are several Benefits of Blogging For Small Business. Blogging stands for web log. It is similar to a website in that you can add content, text information. But it is not like a website in that it does not have the functionality of a website. But if you are not a web technician type of person then a blog has the advantage that it takes little computer skill to build one and to maintain it.

You can find many free blog creating websites. Some have different features but they are all basically the same. And the fact that it is free to build a blog you cannot beat the price. You can use a blog to develop a following online. This is called an online community by some. The larger your community the more customers you will have online and the more sales you will make.

You can use a blog to build a community online. You can establish yourself as a leader or and expert in your subject area. Your business expertise will show through on your blog. You will build a following as people come back to your blog looking for expert advice and valuable information.

This is where your site is listed on let us say for example Google. Most people use Google search engines to find websites about a specific topic. You want your website as high on the search engine pages as possible. If you are ranked on the first page you will be seen by people looking up search terms related to your website you will have more traffic if you were on page two or lower.

The good thing about blogs is that the search engines love them. Blogs are ranked high on the search engines because they are usually updated with fresh content. Search engines reward sites that have new content related to a specific keyword or phrase. Your job is to make sure you post if not everyday with new information related to your website then at least three to five days per week.

If your budget for advertising is limited then a blog is a great way to invest your time. It will cost you only your time and no money to build your online presence for your business. You will not even have to pay for hosting. And you will be able to do it all yourself and not hire someone to do this for you.

Have you gone to a website over and over only to see that the website has not changed? You stop going to it because there is nothing new. This is why your blog will out rank the website in your market that remains static.

Because a blog is changing every day or almost every day people will keep visiting to see what is new. Also, most blogs have an RSS feature this means that people visiting your blog can sign up and get a message letting them know you have updated your blog with new content. Overall a blog is a great way to promote your small business online.

Using Multimedia to Engage Your Readers and Drive More Traffic – Blog Marketing Tips

January 20th, 2010

After all these videos are figured it was time to write a regular blog post. So I’ll talk a bit about my favorite way to write blog posts and articles. What I like to do is do a bit of keyword research on the subject. I like to use Googles external keyword tool. I like that tool because it’s free and since Google makes money by selling ads you can pretty much bet that it’s pretty accurate. I know I’ve talked about some of this before, but it is really important so, let’s get started. Keyword Research The first thing I’ll do is type my main keyword sentence into the Google external keyword tool. That gives me a wide range of keywords to choose from. What I’m looking for here are some long tail keywords with decent traffic and low competition. Usually I’ll just pick one keyword, but if I do pick more than one, I make sure that they’re related. That’s the first and most important part of the research I do for my post.

Every word I write on my blog has the ability to show up in a search result at the most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing…. in just days (maybe even in a few hours). And when a Google customer searches for words that also appear on my blog, I have an excellent chance to have that same visitor swing by my site FREE. While my competitors are paying 50 cents… a dollar… or even up to $50.00 for each lead, getting the same precisely-qualified visitor to my blog at no charge is quite exciting.

Typing Until Your Fingers Bleed At this stage, it’s all about typing until my fingers are hurting. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but at this stage my job is to fill in the blanks. I’m not going to worry about additional research, spelling or grammatical issues at this stage. My main job is to fill up the blank screen that’s staring at me with as much text as possible. Some of it may be gibberish, but most of it will be great stuff that I can use without too much editing.

So here is the cause for your lack of traffic. When you install WordPress or use the one-click install via your web host the chances are that the install will by default set your blog to be private and will in affect block search engines from indexing your site. I am not suer if this is a default setting or just unique to my host, but every site that I have done has had this setting. Thankfully the fix is easy.

Finally, I’ll run my article through a spelling and grammar checker. I like to use White Smoke, but there are other options out there. Another option is to let a friend or a relative proof read the blog post, but I think that’s slightly overkill for a blog post. Publishing Your Masterpiece

This is it! This is where I log in to the admin module of my blog and publish my blog post. I like to use the WP-Auto-Tagger to get as many relevant tags as possible for my post. It’s also important that the category it’s posted in is relevant to the subject of the blog post. Finally, I may do some social bookmarking, create some RSS feeds, ping my blog at ping-o-maticatticMore… and so on. The last steps are mainly to increase the traffic to my blog post though and have no real impact on the actual writing process.

Top 7 Blogging Mistakes

December 18th, 2009

Blogging is by far one of my favorite online marketing activities for online success. It’s a great way for me to share the tons of information I’ve learned about online marketing.

Blogging is not difficult, but it is easy to make some basic mistakes that will impact your results.

At a minimum, you should try to avoid these 7 common blogging mistakes:

Mistake #1: Not providing a visually appealing blog. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but make sure your font is easy to ready, your color scheme is appealing, and you have a clean layout.

Mistake #2: Making your content difficult to read by using long words, long sentences, and long paragraphs. Keep your sentences and paragraphs short. Also, use words and language that your target visitor will understand.

Your paragraphs should be 2-3 sentences long at most. Even if you end up with a paragraph break at a non-standard place, your blog will be easier on the eye and easier for your readers to read online. Long chunks of text are very difficult to read online.

Mistake #3: Writing in a boring, non-conversational style. The best approach is to pretend you are writing to a single person. That person should be your ideal prospect. Pretend you are having a conversation with them, one-on-one. And give your text personality by expressing your opinions.

Mistake #4: Not spell checking your articles before publishing them. Misspelled words are annoying to many people and will make you seem careless and uneducated.

Mistake #5: Only writing for search engines, not for your human visitors. If you use search engine optimization to get natural traffic from the search engines, make sure your article still reads well for your ultimate customer, your human visitors. It’s your human visitors that will buy from you, not the search engines! Only use keywords if they are appropriate and don’t negatively impact the readability of your article.

Mistake #6: Writing to make money, not because you like the topic. If you are passionate about your topic, it will come across in your writing and your readers will pick up on it.

Mistake #7: One-way dialogs. Try to engage your readers in discussion. Ask them to leave comments. Ask them what they think. Get them to think and share their thoughts.

That’s my quick list of 7 common blogging mistakes. Avoid these mistakes and create a blog that rocks!

Dominate Any Niche – Custom Blogs

December 16th, 2009

A blog for making money is a blog that is generally successful. While this isn’t the focal point of many blogs, for some, it’s a nice addition to their income and for the more successful, their only source of income and one that allows them a well enough lifestyle. For the most part, making money off blogs is a mystery to many people & it doesn’t have to stay that way. Read on and you may discover another way for you to make money.

In a perfect scenario, business blogging services companies will uncover the BEST KEYWORDS of their clients and will then write (or outsource) the writing of that content to then be put into those blogs. What has happened is that keywords have become commodities and the best brands know this all too well. YOUR BEST KEYWORDS need to be put into these blog posts and tagged in order for all of those keywords to suddenly appear where they need to appear most…Google page #1.

Attract the Right Readers: Blogs are built around content. No secrets there and the content you provide should be offering partial solutions to your readers problems. The full solution is within the product or report you’re promoting as an newbie affiliate. The right readers are the ones who are looking to buy and willing to part with some hard earned cash. To make money blogging as an affiliate it is absolutely vital that your target these people. The best way is to make sure the keywords within your post title and content use words like “buy” or “review”.

Generally, the setup is a pay-per-blank, wherein the blank is something that changes from group to group when it comes to blog making money. Most people go for the pay per click variant, which means exactly what it suggest & payment only occurs once a viewer on your site clicks the link to their site. Another popular variant, one mostly for merchandise sites such as Amazon, is the pay-per-purchase variant. A user needs to do more than simply browse through the numerous items available & they actually have to purchase something.

Starting a blog is easily one of the best things you can and must do if you are serious about getting natural traffic from the search engines.

Tips on Prospecting To Generate New Leads

December 15th, 2009

Proactive prospecting can be much like physically exercising regularly. It’s something that you know is good for you and will produce predictable positive results, yet is something that most sales people always seem to avoid!

We need to have a starting point. Begin by blocking out one or two hours per day to prospect. Yes, we have put it off long enough. Start by using your sphere of influence to prospect. Prospecting, like anything will require commitment and discipline. This time is yours and you are important. Once you start you will feel more important and this will be a positive projection of your attitude when you talk with your sphere of influence.

Have a specific message. Everyone needs to hear the latest news of markets conditions in your area. It’s likely that they have some misinformation and you can become the expert to help them get a more accurate picture.

Sales have always been a “numbers” game. You want to touch as many people as possible. Defining your target market and being organized will help you obtain your goals.

Before you start prospecting, gather a list of names so you don’t spend valuable time you are using for prospecting. Get an idea of how many customers you plan to call in your allotted hour or two and have at least a one month supply of names.

Remember you have set aside some time for prospecting. Work in an area without interruption. Don’t answer calls or schedule meetings during this time. As you start going through your calls, you will find each call will become easier and easier. Before you know it, you will feel like a pro. You will learn as you go and practice makes perfection.

Consider prospecting during off peak hours when conventional prospecting times don’t work. Some of your best work will be done between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, and between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Vary your call times. We are all creatures of habit. So are your prospects. In all likelihood, they are attending the same meeting each Monday at 10:00 AM (or whatever time you can’t seem to connect with them). If you cannot get through at this time, call this particular person in your sphere of influence at other times during the day or on other days.

Did you know that most success is made after the fifth call? Most sales people give up after the first call. Persistence is your best virtue.

How to Find Email Groups to Promote Your Blog

December 14th, 2009

Having a blog can be a great way for you to practice your writing and to allow others to find out more about you and to get to know you better. Moreover, in this day and age of Internet businesses, a blog can be a great way for you to make money.

In a system called affiliate marketing, you can get commissions whenever people click on ads that are posted on your site. In this way, you not only enjoy writing, you also get to make money from it. Of course, the only way that you can get money through this method is to get more visitors to your blog, and to have great content that everyone will want to avail of.

One way for you to get more visitors is to find an email group that you can use to promote your blog. An email group or mailing list is a great marketing vehicle: you can get in touch with a lot of people who have the same interests as yours, you can find a lot of people who may even have the same attitude as yours, and you can get the word out faster on a product or service that you like. In this same manner, you can get the word out much faster on your blog, and you may be able to spread the word if you know how to talk to people in your email group.

But how do you find the email groups? Here are a few tips that you may want to use as you search for a mailing list that will allow you to talk to a lot of people, keep in touch with people with whom you share interests, and have a lot of fun in promoting your blog!

- First, what are your interests?

Many email groups are built around common interests, be they movies, music, crafts, or even romance and love. List down all your interests. You can start with your hobbies, then your favorite songs, artists, movies, books, authors, and actors. You can use these interests as keywords when searching for email lists. Nearly all email list networks have a searchable database that you can use when looking for groups for you to be a member in. This way, you can be more sure to find people who have the same interests as yours.

- Second, what is your blog about?

Use keywords about your blog in order to find more email groups. For instance, if you have a blog about pets, you may want to look for email groups that talk about pets, feeding pets, grooming pets, veterinarian and vet visits, and just animals in general. You can be as specific as you like: there are whole mailing lists for proud owners of certain breeds of dogs, or for people who like a certain kind of reptile. You can also be as general as you like. However, you may have a harder time with large groups, as they can be filled with people who do not read carefully through all the posrs.

- Third, spread yourself evenly, but not too thin

The disadvantage with having too few mailing lists to be a member in is that you will also have fewer contacts in your network and a smaller range, as though you were putting all your eggs in one basket. The disadvantage with having too many mailing lists, however, is that they are much harder to manage on your part, and you could end up getting a lot of emails but not getting to respond quickly enough.
