If you do not have a site that you use to blog in then you need to choose one. There are many sites that offer free ways to set up your blog. You can start with a niche of your own and what you are knowledgeable about. Keep writing and get started on building a sample of your writing with the niche you have decided on. When you have your blog up and running, begin to promote it through the different directories out there. There are social places and book marking sites. As you write daily you then can use this to begin finding ways to earn money with your blogging. Below are a couple of ideas to get you started in the process. Choose some that you think would work for you and what you like to do.
Google Adsense: It is a choice to apply to Google Adsense from the Google Company. If approved, Google will put their ads on your blogging pages. In turn when a reader clicks on an ad that is on your page Google will pay you for the click. Once you have earned enough money detailed on their application process they will send you a check. All of the details and application is on the Google website.
Blog Sites: It is another option to apply to sites that will pay you to add their advertising into your blog. For a flat fee they will pay you to mention them. Some of these sites are Payerpost, Blogitive and Blogvertise. You can also search for these sites online for more information as well.
Blog for Others: There are many sites that will hire you to blog for others. They want a blog about a certain subject and the client will hire a writer to write for them. You can go to a freelance site where people advertise for these types of writers.
Affiliate Programs: It is also an option to join an affiliate program. Many mini malls or companies such as Amazon will pay you to blog about products and services. Whatever your knowledge base there is someone who is selling a product that you can write about.
Once you get enough blogs going you can set up your own website that is basically your online resume. There you can have samples and link all your blogs together. As you get going and network you will meet other people and find yet more opportunities to earn income as well. Just keep writing and watch the income potential grow.

Proactive prospecting can be much like physically exercising regularly. It’s something that you know is good for you and will produce predictable positive results, yet is something that most sales people always seem to avoid!
We need to have a starting point. Begin by blocking out one or two hours per day to prospect. Yes, we have put it off long enough. Start by using your sphere of influence to prospect. Prospecting, like anything will require commitment and discipline. This time is yours and you are important. Once you start you will feel more important and this will be a positive projection of your attitude when you talk with your sphere of influence.
Have a specific message. Everyone needs to hear the latest news of markets conditions in your area. It’s likely that they have some misinformation and you can become the expert to help them get a more accurate picture.
Sales have always been a “numbers” game. You want to touch as many people as possible. Defining your target market and being organized will help you obtain your goals.
Before you start prospecting, gather a list of names so you don’t spend valuable time you are using for prospecting. Get an idea of how many customers you plan to call in your allotted hour or two and have at least a one month supply of names.
Remember you have set aside some time for prospecting. Work in an area without interruption. Don’t answer calls or schedule meetings during this time. As you start going through your calls, you will find each call will become easier and easier. Before you know it, you will feel like a pro. You will learn as you go and practice makes perfection.
Consider prospecting during off peak hours when conventional prospecting times don’t work. Some of your best work will be done between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, and between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Vary your call times. We are all creatures of habit. So are your prospects. In all likelihood, they are attending the same meeting each Monday at 10:00 AM (or whatever time you can’t seem to connect with them). If you cannot get through at this time, call this particular person in your sphere of influence at other times during the day or on other days.
Did you know that most success is made after the fifth call? Most sales people give up after the first call. Persistence is your best virtue.

The principles of winning in the business world are the same as winning on the athletic field. We all have heard this before. No one person ever described winning and what it takes better than Vince Lombardi, the beloved Hall of Fame football coach of the’50’s and 60’s Green Bay Packers.
Vince’s absent has been forty years but his attitude and viewpoints are relevant in today’s society and business practices. He was also famous for many coined quotes of his era, and these phrases are pertinent in business, politics and sports today.
LOMBARDI TIME – 10-15 minutes early or you are late. Never being late for a meeting or appointment signifies respect for who you are working for or with. If punctuality is reciprocated, you are well on your way to being a winner.
CONFIDENCE IS CONTAGIOUS – SO IS LACK OF CONFIDENCE – A business manager or team leader who demonstrates confidence will breed that same confidence in the work force, if there is consistency of purpose. If you live and believe in what you say, those around you will eventually do the same.
Another coined phrase was “Perfection is not realistic, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence”. If we set goals that are easily reachable, then we can only expect mediocrity. It doesn’t matter if we are an employee with a company or a CEO of a large Corporation or an athlete we can at most be guaranteed “average” results. Establishing higher goals and ambitions, might not guarantee us that we will be the best, but it will assure us to be one of the best.
THE ONLY PLACE SUCCESS COMES BEFORE WORK IS IN THE DICTIONARY – Practice and hard work will reap success. Think of the Lombardi Sweep. The defense knew it was coming, but they still couldn’t stop it. Hard work and “perfect practice” will always win out.
IF WINNING ISN’T EVERYTHING, WHY DO WE KEEP SCORE? – Whether you are in a foot race, football game, or climbing the business ladder, if you don’t want to be the best, you will be satisfied with second place. It will become a habit.
Believe in yourself and believe in your peers or authorities. Be positive in life and live these ideologies and you will be part of the winning team.

Goal setting and planning are not just for the independent contractor but for small and large business entities as well. Companies should have a solid Mission Statement along with written goals and objectives. These of course are instrumental in the success of any business. This is not only beneficial to the Company but employees as well to maintain a balance.
Established companies are not immune or insulated from changes in the economy. If they are not ahead of the curve and don’t adapt with their competition, growth will be impossible. Ability to plan and set goals for success will keep them viable.
The old adage ‘to fail to plan is to plan to fail” rings true. There are many myths in life as well as business that some use today to avoid setting goals and plan. The following are several that more than likely we all have used or at least thought of.
IT’S NOT REALLY THAT IMPORTANT! Just thinking you know what needs to be done isn’t enough. What worked last year isn’t a given this year. If you and your team are not working on next year’s plan today, it may be too late for next year. Working towards next year’s goals should always begin today.
There are written goals and there are written goals. In other words, goals do not exist in thoughts only. They must be in writing. Talking to your employees about the plan for the company’s success will have no value to the employee. Providing your employees with visual goals will spark their interest even more for their future and the company’s.
GOALS ARE ALL YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL! If this were true, we never would have heard of Bill gates or Warren Buffet. Success in any business or profession is dependent on the implementation, supervision, and coordination of the written goals.
Once I write down my goals I only review them once a year. This is definitely another myth or misconception. With the constant changing of today’s economy, goal planning must be reviewed quarterly, if not monthly. This will keep you from swerving off course and adapt your road to success. Evaluating your goals frequently must now become a common practice.
We must constantly adjust our goals to determine if increased production is approached in a timely manner or if a reduction in sales or staff is more realistic. If we don’t take these approaches cautiously, we could be in a financial crisis along with the economy or even in a strong economy. We will always be in a better position knowing the “storm” is coming rather than waiting until after it arrives.

Freelance writing is a very competitive business, and it’s not hard to see why so many beginners can get frustrated and quit before ever coming close to their full potential. Everyone knows how hard it can be as a first timer at anything, so the following article will provide five great tips for getting started as a new online writer.
My first tip for beginning writers is to get started right away. While there is a lot you need to learn, it’s easy to get information overload. Learn as you go, but find a place to start writing right away!
Second, make sure to research all the jobs and opportunities available to you online. Most beginning writers are amazed by the sheer number of possibilities available to them online. A key part of succeeding in this business is doing great research to line yourself up with the best online set ups.
My third tip is to diversify. Instead of trying to concentrate on just one website, take a look at a few. Many of these places have very diverse requirements for articles, which makes writing less repetitive and more fun in addition to creating many different streams of income.
The fourth tip for beginning freelance writers is to believe in yourself. A lot of people mock freelance writers or don’t understand them. Writing is hard and takes time, so you’re going to need self-confidence in order to get through the hard times.
The fifth bit of advice is good for any entrepreneur: under promise & over deliver. Sometimes half of performance is perception. If you promise 50 articles in two days, but it takes three, then you’ve hurt your reputation. But what if you promise 50 articles in five days and deliver in three? Then you look amazing even though the work took the same amount of time. That’s the key.
The advice in this article isn’t the end all, be all, of freelance writing, but should give beginning writers a good jump start on their careers. Following these tips will help speed up the process of getting to where you want to really be with your career.
This article is only the beginning. There are many amazing freelance writing resources online that every writer should take advantage of. Follow the information gladly offered by authors who have already been through the process and you’ll be glad you did!

There are websites that are really irritating to look at. Sometimes you can’t point them out but you still get this feeling that something is wrong and it is irritating. Some are identifiable though. Here are some of the common mistakes that can mar your web design.
First on the list is of course bad layout and bad web design.” Web designs of this type are usually tacky, unbalanced, or overloaded. Instead of being simply informative, they can cause headaches because of information overload. You have to create web designs that will give viewers a pleasant viewing experience. Pages that are slow to load are also not good for today’s viewers who are known to have short attention spans. This is especially irritating when there are load meters that show just how slow it is really loading. Keep pages lean and fast so that visitors are not bored.
Tacky and wild color schemes would make your web design look foolish with too bright colors. These colors would also make the text difficult to read. You would not want your visitors to squint while reading. Also, make sure that the spelling and grammar of your text is correct.
Errors in spelling and grammar can make visitors grimace and immediately leave your site.” A good web design would also have fonts that are of the appropriate style and size that fit the purpose of the site. Do not use fonts just because you fancy them. This goes along with the need to make sure that your site is readable and pleasant to browse through.
Another thing that visitors really dislike is the automatic music that plays when you open a web site. This is particularly irritating when the background music does not fit the subject matter. Add to this the difficulty to find the off switch for the music and you get a visitor who is just about ready to tear his hair off. To make your web design clean, you also have to avoid overloading it with ads especially the ones with really big banners. These ads should instead be well placed and well designed.

Blogging is a common activity that attracts more and more people of all ages. Some of them hope to earn money by creating and maintaining a blog, while others are doing it from pure pleasure. If your goal is to monetize your blog, you must learn more about how to make money blogging.
Marketing on the Internet is now an interactive experience not only for customers, but also for business owners. Your main goal should consist in attracting increasingly more visitors by providing valuable information on a regular basis. A strong web presence is the key to success.
Why is Search Engine Optimisation so important? I will try to explain by using an analogy: if a store has just a few clients despite its central location, can you say that it has success? It certainly doesn’t. But if somehow we could make people start to visit the store, there are more changes to get customers, considering that any visitors can become a potential client. As more traffic we have, as more money we get.
When building a blog, you must take into account some specific elements: RSS Syndication modules, blog entries, XML icons, date of entries, a blogroll, archives and some unique pieces of content. Pay special attention to each element, because they all have a well defined role.
Having a blog can be a fun and interesting way to express opinions and interact with people around the world. The advantages of owning a blog are determined primarily by the type of blog. We’re speaking here about two major categories of blogs: personal blogs and business blogs (used by firms / companies for various purposes such as promoting new products or services, interacting with potential clients, receiving feedback from clients, etc). The biggest advantage offered by blogs is the speed and ease of updating or adding information. It is an excellent method of keeping a diary of events.
More than that, maintaining a blog involves an insignificant investment. Traditional marketing strategies are expensive, being accessible to a small number of people.
In order to make money from blogging, you must take advantage of SEO techniques. SE Optimisation is mainly about improving your search engine rankings. So, you must write good titles, participate in discussion groups, tag your content and write quality content, using relevant keywords.
Creating strong content is the best free formula for attracting website traffic. Focus on customers’ satisfaction and be honest to those who spend time visiting your blog. People search for fresh information, so you must update the blog regularly. Don’t underestimate your clients! Your perspective must be unique. Cover a popular topic only if you have something interesting to say about. Think about yourself: what would you like to read about? What makes you visit again and again a specific website?
If you’re not ready to sell your own products, you can work as an affiliate. This business involves selling and promoting products and services through your website or blog. You’ll receive a percentage each time someone purchases a product.
Another great idea is to set up multiple niche blogs and to maintain them over a period of time. Submit them to get paid to blog websites and write sponsored posts. You’ll earn passive income, so it’s necessary to take care of your blogs, in order to get some money.
You can opt for automated blogging; what is it about? Well, you won’t have to write posts, because you blog we’ll be updated constantly through RSS feeds and other sources of information.
You can join a blog network that pays you to write content for your blog. You’ll be paid on a regular basis. Keep in mind that this method requires constant writing assignments.
Placing ads on your website or blog will bring some money. If your efforts are appreciable, then you’ll earn more than you need. Don’t expect too fast results, because in this business, patience is the key.

If you’ve been in Niche Marketing any time at all, you know how important keywords are. These words are what people type into search engines to find information. If you’ve done your work right, they’ll find your site and come running, eager to buy what you have, this is the way to make money in Internet Marketing. If we didn’t have keywords, there would be no income for us marketers!
Knowing that keywords are so important to our online incomes, you’d think that more Internet Marketers would do a better job of checking on them to make sure they’re still making money. But this isn’t the case. A lot of people think that if they have a group of keywords that is making them money, then those keywords will always make them money. This isn’t true and it’s a prime reason you should be doing routine check ups to make sure you’re still dealing with profitable keywords and not duds.
Our time as marketers is limited. A lot of marketers don’t realize they’re spending time optimizing their websites for keywords that are no longer able to make money. For example, it wouldn’t do you much good to be working on keywords about Christmas in the middle of March. No one is looking to buy Christmas gifts at Easter.
Smart marketers check their keywords often because they will find new keywords that will help them make money with the Internet. Heck, just a few years ago the term Niche Marketing didn’t even exist. This is a prime example of being on the lookout for new keywords. By checking your keywords every month or so and getting rod of the ones not making you money and adding new ones that are hot, you’ll go a long ways in making money in this business.
If you’re seeing decreasing income from your keyword list, this may be a good time to look them over to see which ones aren’t performing. While you’re at it, it will also be a good idea to see which other keywords that have become popular so you can add those to your list as well. It’s a real bummer to work hard building your keyword list only to find out that many of your main keywords are not being searched for quite as often as they once were.
Just by taking this advice and looking over your keyword list, you’ll likely find room for improvement. Heck, you may also discover that your income goes up as you get rid of non productive keywords and add new ones. You can bet that your competition will be updating their keyword list on a routine basis, just another reason you should be as well. That is, if your interested in making money on the Internet!

SEO is essentially a constantly evolving study of what factors the search engines take into account when they ‘rank’ you in their natural search listings. Natural or ‘organic’ lists form the main body of a SE page. Paid listings are separate to natural listings. The paid listings are typically in a yellow section at the top of the page, and in a column down the right hand side. The ‘natural’ listings are straight from the main index. They show sites listed in the order of importance and relevance – according to their algorithm.
Plainly our aim is to get our site up with the top ones. We’ve little chance of being seen if we’re way down the list on page 7. Only those in the Search Engine’s ‘inner circle’ know all the factors used to position sites. It isn’t something they publicize to the rest of us!
But there is now a skilled sector entirely devoted to benefiting from high rankings. And so we have on one side Google and Bing purposely patenting different technologies. (Which leads to much confusion of course!) And then you have an industry built around SEO. Search Engine Optimizers do checks and balances that test various pertinent factors in relation to ratings.
Both ‘off page’ and ‘on page’ optimization is dealt with. In addition there are geographic and demographic factors, but SEO cannot control these. (Off-Page optimisation is examined in an additional feature.)
‘On-Page’ SEO
Adjusting a site’s content to make it friendlier to the SE’s is called On Page optimization. This is quite straight-forward – it simply requires correctly setting up your site. Factors like: The correct use and density of keywords and internal linking; H1 and H2 header tags and meta tags.
If all that is complete double-dutch to you, then don’t worry – you’re not alone! For the most part, although this work isn’t complicated, its effects are minimal. In fact, it is widely believed that it has very little effect at all anymore. There was a time when SE’s were ‘duped’ by On-Page optimization. That’s not how it is now though.
The only time that ‘on-page’ becomes important is when you have taken care of ‘off-page’ and have a lot of inbound ‘back-links’. At that stage, Internal Linking and some On Page manipulation can be beneficial.
A Bit of Advice… A phrase that shows vast numbers of results should not be your first SEO target. For instance, if you typed into a Search Engine the term Car insurance, seventy million results would be listed for the UK alone. It’s not rocket science to realize that competing in this area wouldn’t be productive.
Although… When I search for “Southampton Car Insurance”, it comes down to a more manageable 300K. (If car insurance in Southampton was my business!) A big number still it seems – but actually quite a small number when it comes to web searches.
We can do much more with this. In point of fact, a phrase like Car insurance would massively set me back. I would actually be competing with the insurance conglomerates! So not a great idea – especially, in fact, when there are much better ways to go about it.
In fact, what we really need are terms that more specifically reflect our product or service. In Search Engine terms, these phrases (which can have a number of keywords) are referred to as long-tail. Depending on how competitive your market is, the phrases could be from 2 to 7 words long. Generally we use 3 to 4 words.
We normally recommend performing SEO on phrases that return less than half a million results at the start. (In some cases, we may go with a higher count – if the current page 1 results are not well SEO’d.) In time our back links will grow. Then we’ll get a better rating on some of the bigger yielding phrases. If we put in enough effort, we can go after those big phrases in 3-12 months time. This line of attack starts with more focus. We’re after the people who are really looking to buy, so we go for phrases that convert well.
You should also build back links to various different pages – and not just your website’s homepage. The Search Engines like this – especially Google. A good example would be product group or category pages. It’s worth driving specific search terms to these pages – they often have links to lots of other product pages. Do not simply build links to your website’s home page. The SE’s are becoming increasingly interested in how a site’s individual pages are listed.
